Drought Status

Currently, there is no drought response declaration impacting Fulton County. However, due to recent weather, the county is experiencing abnormally dry conditions and record water usage.

Residents are encouraged to take steps to conserve, including:

• Follow the statewide, year-round watering schedule which requires landscape watering to be done either before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. to prevent water loss from evaporation.

• Voluntarily limit watering to 2 - 3 days a week, and only when needed.

• Set irrigation systems to run before sunrise or after sunset. · Inspect your irrigation system for any leaks or misdirected heads to ensure efficient watering.

• Raise your mower blade one setting and keep it sharp to reduce the amount of water your lawn needs.
