Robb brought efficiency to city operations and procurement procedures and became known as the “taxpayers’ watchdog” for his scrutiny of the City’s spending and his management of the budget process. While he was Council President, he was a strong supporter of tax relief for the elderly, including the reduction of sanitation fees, and an increase in homestead exemptions.
A businessman and former college professor, Robb earned degrees in education, business, languages and Latin American Studies at Ohio University, La Academia Hispanoamericana, Kent State University and La Universidad Interamericana. He has a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University and is a former member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors. He has taught at Clark Atlanta University, Oberlin College, and Kent State University.
Active in a variety of community programs and an avid patron of the arts, Robb has served on the boards of organizations such as the Georgia Municipal Association, the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Atlanta Economic Development Corporation, the Urban Residential Finance Authority, the Latin American Association, the Atlanta Ballet, the Arts Festival of Atlanta, and the Center for the Puppetry Arts. He is also a lifetime member of the NAACP.
A native of Haddock, Georgia, Robb and his wife, Fran, have one daughter.
