Absentee Voting

Tuesday, March 12, 2024 - Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) Election

Georgia law allows residents to vote by absentee ballot, sometimes known as voting by mail.


Senate Bill 202 passed by the General Assembly in 2021 made many changes to the absentee ballot process, including new deadlines and ID requirements.

First day for the registrar to mail/ issue absentee ballot to eligible UOCAVA voters.
*Instant runoff ballots must also be included in UOCAVA ballot packet


February 12, 2024

Last day for a person to register and be eligible to vote

REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT

Voters must submit an absentee ballot application to request an absentee ballot.  

How to Complete Your Absentee Ballot Application

1. DEADLINE - March 1, 2024 - Last day to submit absentee ballot application for the Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) Election.

 

2. Complete the application including:

• the name and date of the election
• the voter’s name
• address where the voter is registered
• date of birth
• Your Driver’s License Number or other ID specified on the form (updated for 2021)
• the voter’s signature

To submit an absentee ballot application via email, attach the application as a .pdf or .jpg. The maximum file size is 5 MB to Elections.Absentee@fultoncountyga.gov. Only one application may be attached per email.

RETURN YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT

After you return your absentee ballot application, a ballot will be mailed to you.

After your ballot arrives in the mail, please complete it carefully following the provided instructions.

To be counted, your absentee ballot must be received by the Department of Registration & Elections by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

There are three ways to return your ballot.

By Mail
Mail your absentee ballot to 5600 Campbellton Fairburn Road, Fairburn, GA 30213

By Drop Box
Return your absentee ballot via Absentee Ballot drop box.
Drop boxes are accessible during early voting hours.
 
In Our Offices

Return to the Fulton County Department of Registration & Elections offices:

*You may not return your absentee ballot at your Election Day polling place.
