The UGA Cooperative Extension of Fulton County and North Fulton Master Gardeners (NFMG) have joined for the first annual Celebration Garden Tour, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, June 3 through the city of Sandy Springs.
This year’s theme, “Every Step, A New Delight,” will be demonstrated through a stroll of 5 personal gardens maintained by a master gardener. The tour will feature: an array of container gardening, a Southern-style Garden, museum-quality sculptures, terraced landscape architecture and unique plants and designs. In addition, several master gardeners will be on hand to highlight areas of interest and answer questions.
Details about description and location of each garden are available online. Ticketholders are welcome to visit the gardens in any order.
Advance ticket purchases are available online for $22. If available, they may also be purchased the day of the event for $25. Children under the age of 18 will receive free admission.
The Celebration Garden Tour will take place, rain or shine, and attendees are welcome to take photography for personal use. The tour is not accessible to wheelchairs or strollers, and wearing sturdy, flat shoes is also recommended.
North Fulton Master Gardeners are volunteers trained by Fulton County’s Cooperative Extension. Proceeds from the tour will benefit the county by supporting educational classes and demonstration gardens, such as those at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and the Archibald Smith Plantation Home.
North Fulton Master Gardeners is a nonprofit organization that seeks to educate its members and the public in horticulture and ecology to promote community enrichment. Visit North Fulton Master Gardeners online for more details.
