The Fulton County Accountability Courts will hit the streets as a proud participant of the Shatterproof RISE UP Against Addiction Walk/Run on Saturday, November 5. The event, which will kick-off at 8 a.m. at Piedmont Park will give the community the opportunity to bring the disease of addiction into the light and share inspiring stories of hope and recovery.
As the Accountability Courts team prepares for the walk, Fulton County District 2 Commissioner Bob Ellis will recognize Shatterproof during the Board of Commissioners Meeting on Wednesday, November 2. Commissioner Ellis will sponsor a proclamation marking Saturday, November 5, 2022 Shatterproof Appreciation Day.
“Over the past two decades, the Fulton County Accountability Courts have provided adult programs to help those fighting addiction and seeking help for mental health issues,” said Commissioner Ellis. “This team understands that these issues can shatter a family, which is why they are coming together to shed light on how to bring help to those who need it.”
“No two stories about addiction are the same, but when we come together as one community, we can change the story,” said Bradley Jones, Behavioral Health Program Manager, State Court DUI Treatment Program. “We are working together to save lives.”
