Senior Transportation to Vaccine Appointments

Fulton County Senior Services Removes Barriers for Seniors who need Transportation to Vaccine Appointments

March 16, 2021

Fulton County Senior Services is removing barriers for seniors age 65-years-old and above who have a COVID-19 vaccine appointment and do not have transportation.

Through the Uber/Lyft program, any Fulton County senior who has a confirmed vaccination appointment can call the Senior Services STARline at 404-613-6000 to schedule transportation. Seniors who are interested in booking an appointment should provide the following information: first and last name; age; telephone number; pick-up time and address; and destination address for their vaccine appointment.

Once approved, an Uber/Lyft transportation provider will contact residents by phone to coordinate ride pick-ups. When scheduling, seniors should give transportation providers at least a two-day advance notice ahead of their vaccine appointment time.

Fulton County’s latest initiative is in response to the emerging need to explore options to increase vaccine accessibility for eligible seniors. The program also provides vaccine access for caregivers of Fulton County residents age 65 and older. The service provides participating seniors and their caregivers with up to four trips - to and from their first and second vaccine appointments, at no cost to them.

While Fulton County offers this transportation service as part of their ongoing initiatives for seniors registered in their programs, they are expanding this program to support the COVID-19 vaccination effort and waiving all participant fees for up to four trips.

For more information on scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine appointment, call Fulton County’s COVID-19 hotline at 404-613-8150.
