Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney Brad Malkin is a career prosecutor with nearly 35 years of experience and has prosecuted many thousands of criminal cases. He has been with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for over 26 years, having joined the office in 1996. Prior to his current role as a supervisor in the Complex Trial Unit of the Trial Division he prosecuted cases in the newly established Elder Abuse and Animal Cruelty Unit and the newly established Case Intake Unit. Prior to that he was Deputy District Attorney of the White Collar Crime Unit and was in charge of that unit for 20 years, recovering approximately $50 million for victims. In that position, he prosecuted nearly 1,000 defendants, including attorneys, ministers, CEOs, accountants, bankers, the largest art dealer in Atlanta, office managers, and other trusted employees, and everyday thieves, con artists, and swindlers, with a significant number receiving substantial prison sentences. He also prosecuted and tried all varieties of complex criminal cases in the trial division before there were any specialized units.
Before coming to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office Brad prosecuted a wide variety of cases in the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for several years and before that he prosecuted misdemeanors in the DeKalb County Solicitor’s Office. He also handled several appeals in those offices.
Brad has received the Attorney of the Year Award; Voice for Victims Award; White Collar Crime Unit Attorney of the Year Award; Lewis Slaton Jacket Highest Achievement Award; and several other awards and recognitions.
Brad grew up in New Jersey and attended Binghamton University in New York State, majoring in Political Science, and graduated from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta.
