Chris Sperry obtained his undergraduate degree at Ohio University in 2009 in Criminology and his Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law in 2012. After passing the bar, he joined the Alcovy Judicial Circuit as an Assistant District Attorney where he would serve the citizens of Newton County until 2015. In 2015, he joined the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney where he would rise to become the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney in charge of the Major Case Unit. He was awarded Clayton County District Attorney's Office Employee of the Year in 2018 and served as Chief Assistant District Attorney in 2019. He joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in 2021 and was assigned to the Major Case Unit, where he prosecuted complex homicides and was awarded the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office Pinnacle Award. He was promoted to Deputy District Attorney over the Gang Unit in 2022.
Throughout his decade of prosecution experience, he has prosecuted hundreds of violent offenders from start to finish and been the primary prosecutor in the dismantling of multiple criminal street gangs. Chris has lectured on courtroom techniques and gang investigations at both the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations conferences and trainings and provided numerous gang investigation trainings to other law enforcement agencies. In his free time, he can be found with his rescue dog or cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
