Jason is an attorney with more than 10 years of experience, almost 8 of which have been serving Fulton County. From 2014 to 2021, Jason was either court-appointed or a public defender, practicing in Henry, Chatham, and Fulton Counties. Jason’s ninety percent success rate at trial as a defense attorney brought him to the Fani Willis administration, where he has been practicing since 2021.
Jason’s experience and ability to process cases led him to move from Case Intake to Trial Division to Anti-Corruption and then Major Case Division in rapid succession. DA Willis tapped Jason to return to the Case Intake Division to help reduce the massive backlog of cases. In his current capacity, Jason’s responsibilities include supervising a team of attorneys who will collect evidence and make charging decisions on the unindicted cases of current Fulton County Jail inmates.
Before joining the District Attorney’s Office, Jason worked with the Fulton County Public Defender’s Office from 2018 to 2021 and the Georgia Public Defender Council from 2015 to 2018. Before attending law school, Jason taught middle school social studies in the Cobb County School District from 2006 to 2010. In 2010, Jason guest-edited the 8th Grade Georgia Studies Textbook, "Georgia and the American Experience."
Jason graduated in the top 15 percent of his class from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 2013 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Social Studies Education from Kennesaw State University.
