An Update from the Executive Committee

Meetings

The Reparations Taskforce has temporarily paused meetings as members work to prepare a report on impact of slavery and Jim Crow on residents of Fulton County, based on extensive research conducted over the last year. Task Force Meetings are expected to resume in the first quarter of 2025. Until then, residents may contact Taskforce Members via the reparationstaskforce@fultoncountyga.gov

 

Upcoming Meetings: 

There will be no February meetings.

 

Citizens are allowed to voice Fulton County Reparations Task Force related opinions, concerns, requests, etc. during the Public Comment portion of the task force meeting, which is held after the discussion of new business items. Description: The Reparations Task Force serves as an advisory body to the Board of Commissioners to investigate and provide recommendations to the Board of Commissioners regarding priorities, objectives, and policies which will support the revitalization, preservation, and stabilization of the Black/African American population in Fulton County in the form of reparations.

Membership/Appointment: Each Commissioner shall appoint two (2) members for a total of 14 members. Each member shall be a resident of Fulton County at the time of the appointment.

Term: A member shall serve for a two-year term and subject to removal by the appointing Commissioner for cause. No member’s term shall exceed that of the appointing Commissioner but shall remain as a voting member until replaced or reappointed by the successive Commissioner.
