Fulton County Mental Health Mobile Unit will visit the Oak Hill Child Adolescent and Family Center

Through its visibility in the community, the mobile unit will help confront the stigma surrounding mental illness and substance use disorders.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to an end, the Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) is pleased to announce its new Mental Health Mobile Unit, which will provide education about mental health and strengthen efforts to combat stereotypes surrounding mental illness.

The state-of-the-art vehicle features three private consultation rooms, telehealth services, interior and exterior monitors, a large screen television, restroom, and wheelchair accessibility.

“This is exciting news for all of Fulton County,” said Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robb Pitts. “The new Mental Health Mobile Unit is an exciting opportunity to support the well-being of the residents we serve. It is imperative to not only increase awareness surrounding mental health, but to also search for opportunities to promote mental health services throughout Fulton County.”

Beginning in June 2023, the Mental Health Mobile Unit will visit locations around Fulton County, including community meetings and public facilities such as Fulton County Libraries and Senior Centers.
